Privacy policy
EarSteady is built privacy-first. This page explains, in plain language, what the EarSteady app and website collect, why, and your choices. EarSteady is operated by VectraSEO LLC. This policy is current as of the date above; if we change it, we will update the date and post the revised policy here.
Sensor and camera data stays on your device
The gyroscope and accelerometer readings used to coach your positioning are processed entirely on your phone, in real time. We do not collect, upload, store, or transmit your motion data. Nothing about your head or body movement leaves your device.
Camera (optional). On the upright "sit and turn" steps, EarSteady can use your phone's front camera to track your head position more precisely. This is optional: you choose whether to turn it on, the app asks for camera permission before it starts, and you can use EarSteady with motion sensors only. When camera tracking is on, the video is analyzed in real time by software running entirely on your phone (an on-device model). We do not store, upload, transmit, or share any image, video, or face data, and no camera frames ever leave your device.
What we collect
- Email address — waitlist. If you join our waitlist or early-access list on our website, we store your email so we can contact you about EarSteady.
- Email address — account sign-in. EarSteady uses passwordless "magic link" sign-in. If you create an account or sign in, you give us your email address and we send you a one-time sign-in link. We store your email to operate your account and send you those links. We never set or store a password.
The core repositioning and education features do not require an account. Email is the only personal information we collect, and only when you choose to provide it.
Analytics, ads, and tracking
The EarSteady app does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting software. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not build advertising profiles. The app requests internet access so it can load content and, where you opt in, send your email to us and sign you in.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not share your information for advertising.
- Sensor and camera readings are processed on your device in real time and are never collected, stored, uploaded, or shared by us.
How we protect and share your data
Any email you provide is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and stored on our service provider's infrastructure. We do not share your personal information with third parties except service providers that help us operate EarSteady (such as our hosting, email, and payment infrastructure), or where required by law.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy (portability) of the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or targeted advertising. We honor these requests regardless of your location. As stated above, we do not sell or share your personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising. To exercise any right, email privacy@earsteady.com; we will verify your request, respond within the time required by applicable law, and will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.
Retention. We keep the email you provide until you ask us to delete it or unsubscribe, after which we remove it from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with law.
Your choices
You can request access to, a copy of, or deletion of any email or other personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing privacy@earsteady.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. If you receive email from us, you can also unsubscribe at any time using the link in the message.
Children
EarSteady is intended for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
